Downtown Winston-Salem

Wake Forest University

Wake Forest University is a comprehensive university with a rich history in the arts. The university has been home to many acclaimed artists, including John White and Henry Whitfield.

The university began its foray into the arts in the early 1920s when it established the School of Fine Arts. Since then, Wake Forest University has become one of the leading institutions of art in the United States. The school offers undergraduate and graduate programs in art, architecture, music, dance, film and theater.

Notable alumni of Wake Forest University include Sarah Caldwell, founder of Caldwell Industries; painter Samuel Yount; and composer/pianist Robin Eubanks.

East 8th Street District

The East th Street District is home to some of Winston-Salem’s most popular tourist destinations.

The East th Street District is located on the northeast side of Winston-Salem. This district is home to several popular tourist destinations, including the Bowman Gray Art Gallery and The Forsyth Museum.

Fairview Park

Fairview Park is a city park in Winston-Salem, North Carolina that is home to the largest collection of art in the Piedmont Triad region.
