Tourist Information Center: The Philadelphia Tourist Information Center (PTIC) is located at 1201 Market Street in Center City and is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-4pm. They offer maps, brochures, and information about attractions and restaurants in the city. You can also reserve tickets for many of Philadelphia’s top attractions through their website.

City Bus: The City Bus system provides transportation throughout the city via fixed routes and buses that run frequently depending on the time of day. Fares are $2 per ride cash only. Click here to learn more about the City Bus system.

Taxi: Taxis can be found all around Philadelphia and they are pretty affordable. Rates start at $3 for the first mile and then $1 per additional mile. For more information on taxis in Philadelphia, click here.

Bicycle: Bicycles can be rented from numerous places around the city for a nominal fee. Click here to learn more about renting a bike in Philadelphia. Ferry: Philadelphia has a public ferry system that operates from May through October which is run by the SEPTA. There are many different routes, depending on where you are going and how many stops there are along the way. Tickets can be purchased in advance online here.

Rates start at $4 for each direction, round trip. Parking: Parking in Philadelphia can be a little difficult and expensive especially during major events or if you have just arrived from out of town and need to park somewhere other than your hotel. One option is to park on the street but much of Philadelphia’s streets require parking permits which add cost to any trip. As such, we recommend parking at one of these lots instead of driving around town looking for parking spaces.
